Fashion Decarbonization Pathways by Segment – June 2025
On the 20th of June 2025, Paris Good Fashion and Argon&Co, with the support of DEFI, presented the Fashion Decarbonisation Pathways, during Paris Good Fashion’s Midsummer Camp at the Domaine de Chaalis.
ACT Assessment of SHEIN’s Decarbonization Strategy – June 2025
As part of the work to establish a sectoral decarbonization trajectory for the fashion industry (luxury, mass, premium vs. ultra-fast fashion), Paris Good Fashion conducted an evaluation of the credibility of SHEIN’s decarbonization strategy using the ACT Fashion Assessment Methodology.
Results: Based on the public data provided by SHEIN, the company’s decarbonization strategy received a score of 3.2 E out of 20. The ACT Fashion assessment is based on information from SHEIN’s 2023 Sustainability and Social Impact Report, as well as the details published by SHEIN on May 23, 2025, regarding the validation of its Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) objectives.
Data Analysis – March 2025
With the aim of developing a tangible sectoral trajectory, we conducted an analysis of key databases and data sources used in France and internationally. To better identify and understand gaps and biases, we interviewed 12 experts.
Quantitative Definition of Segments (Luxury, Mass, Premium, Ultra Fast Fashion) – February 2025
o create a sectoral trajectory truly adapted to market segments, we carried out a study to achieve a clear, precise, and quantitative segmentation of the main fashion sectors (Luxury, Mass, Premium, and Ultra-Fast Fashion). This segmentation is based on the analysis of over 30 brands and hundreds of products. The main differences lie in pricing, material mix, “made in” origin, and product range breadth. This study was conducted with the support of Défi, in collaboration with the ForEver Young Committee, and under the leadership of François Souchet, who has since been conducting in-depth analyses based on this segmentation.

The ACT Fashion Assessment Methodology – October 2024
In partnership with ADEME, and with the support of DEFI, we launched the ACT Fashion Assessment Methodology, which enables the evaluation of the credibility of decarbonization strategies among fashion companies (having already completed three carbon assessments). Developed by ADEME and the World Benchmarking Alliance, the ACT methodology was initially adapted to 15 industrial sectors, including chemicals, automotive, glass, and construction. It is strongly recommended by the Banque de France. 180 fashion industry stakeholders contributed to its adaptation for the fashion sector, and 13 companies tested it in the field before its launch. It is now accessible to everyone on the ADEME

How can we act together for sustainable fashion?
Believing in systemic change requires consumer participation. We launched a national citizen consultation in 2020, led by a collective including Galeries Lafayette, Etam, Vestiaire Collective, Eram, Petit Bateau, La Redoute, and Who’s Next.
